GIRLS ONLY Slackline Festival

The annual Girls Only Slackline Festival is a highline meeting for women held in Ostrov, Czech Republic. The event is in it's 7th year, and it's expected more than 30 women will gather in the sandstones to put their balancing skills to the test on a variety of highlines. The event is an international affair, in the past at least eight nationalities were represented. This year women are attending from as far as Brazil and USA. The level of ability ranges from beginner to professional. Ostrov is the perfect place for the event, with easy-to-access highlines and beautiful exposure over the forest, not the mention wonderful sandstone climbing! During the evenings you can find the local pub full of women enjoying Czech Beer and competing in a series of fun competitions such as bouldering tables and chairs. Each year the Himmelreich cottage is sponsored for lodging, so the girls who attend have an entire house to themselves. The event is created and organized by Rock Empire athlete Faith Dickey, who climbs and rigs the highlines on the sandstone towers for the event each year.
