Wells and reservoirs are a specific type of working at depth with free spaces underneath the workers. Ladders, tripods, winches, retracting fall arresters and ropes are most often used for proper movement in confined areas of great depth. Protective equipment plays a primary role in vertical movement and also to limit the risk of poisoning from various possible gases or contaminated air.
